The start…

Welcome to my personal website. My name is Steph and I am a 40 year old student currently studying for a degree in design and creative writing with the Open University. My dream is to turn the many short stories and childrens fiction books I have started in to real, published books with my own illustrations to accompany the titles.

I know there are few people who are able to successfully create both a compelling book and beautiful illustrations themselves, but i’m hoping I can break the mould and bring something new to the area.

I have a love for childrens and adult fiction but I often find my ideas are overwhelming and I just don’t manage to finish what I have started. I am hoping with the degree under my belt I will be able to reign in my excitement and create some stories that are noteworthy and memorable.

Hi! I'm Steph, an amateur writer and illustrator specialising in Mental Health and being a self-confessed Spoonie. I help others by publishing creative ideas to help support chronic pain and mental illness, and I write a blog about my own experiences with disability and mental illness. In 2023 I was nominated twice for a Kent Mental Health and Well-being Award from the national mental health charity Mind.
