Today I’ve continued my work towards the pages of a children’s book about adventures in a forest.

I’ve done a few drawings over text including mushrooms, trees and woods and they seem to work best when I add some opacity to the drawings so the letters show through clearly. That was a bit of a learning curve. As adults we can decipher what a word says quite easily but for children the pictures and words need to be clear and obvious.

I’ve still got a lot of work to do toward the books I’m creating. This work is for a toddler board book. I’m also doing some drawings for a book about a bee and writing a novel.

I find I’m most creative in the middle of the night so I quite often draw or write in that time. Especially if ive been woken up in pain and need a distraction.

Lots more drawings to come including some more Kawaii sticker designs I’ve been working on.
