The upgraded strawberry

Bored of drawing strawberries? Looking for something new? Why not try strawberries and cream? 😆🍓

Yep, as you can see, not only did I draw a new strawberry, I added a splash of cream to the image too.

I know it’s totally out of place for September, but I loved the last strawberry I drew that I convinced myself to learn from my mistakes, draw another and add a new component.

No need to go in to detail about the strawberry – it’s been said!

But adding the cream was a real challenge, and although I don’t HATE the finished piece, I know I need to work on the colour palette for the dairy. It was hard not to keep reverting to grey to add texture and shading, but I think yellows may have been a better choice.

Another learning curve, but it’s incredibly enjoyable comparing this work to pieces I created this time last year and being able to see improvements.

Any ideas for future drawings would be welcomed!

I’m just about to work on an ocean sunset and forest puddle to mix things up a bit!
