Haiku Hope Part 7 – Spots

Welcome to another Haiku Hope.

This time I’m addressing more of what’s going on at home. Yes, we’ve finally been struck by Chicken Pox.

Thankfully both myself and my partner have had it before, so it’s only our daughter with the spots. However my partner managed to pick it up again as shingles because he’s so run down.

All of that on top of the usual stress has been hard for us all (see my last Crap Poem – ‘Why?’), especially seeing our daughter trying to cope with the itchiness…it was contagious.

Here is my haiku about the affliction.

**********

Spots

Scratch, scar, scratch, “STOP IT”
She shouts at us “it’s itching!”
Until Encanto

**********

Suffice to say, in spite of the itching, the songs from the Disney film ‘Encanto’ have been life-saving for our sanity. Somehow, every time we put them on she forgets to scratch and starts to smile and dance instead – far more pleasant.

I reccommend Disney to any parent dealing with these demonic spots. And speak to your pharmacy about some cream they have – it helps.

Thanks for reading!
