Welcome to another Haiku Hope!
Today I’ve written a 5, 7, 5 about the subject on everyones lips that’s a great and expensive distraction that (frankly) doesn’t really matter.
But we need it, don’t we?
Halloween of course!
This is the first year in my 41 years on the planet where we are celebrating, it’s the first year I’ve seen a carved pumpkin first-hand (thanks to my partner), the first year I’ve helped make DIY decorations, and the first year I’ve talked about costumes for our daughter. It’s all new to me.
Saying that, seeing our kid so excited about dressing up, making pumpkins with scraps of card, and using battery powered candles around the house (saving us money as she does) is almost addictive. I love it when she’s happy, and because I miss the exciting events that happen outside of our home, it’s even more special to get to finally celebrate something with her INDOORS.
Anyway, halloween fever is clearly catching, and as a result I wanted to write another pointless Haiku about it. Here it is…

Halloween
“Are witches real, Mum?”
“Of course not! Pass my broom, please” *turns away
“Mwa, ha, ha, ha, ha!”
