Weird Words Part 9 – Fezziwig

Welcome to another edition of my festive Weird Words.

This is my 9th weird word overall, but my 3rd in the christmas specials. I’ve found it more engaging and interesting to look for words that relate to something I’m truly passionate about. I might keep the themes going in the future.

Anyway, today I’ve found a slightly unusual word, but one I’m going to work on encorporating into my own vocabulary over the coming weeks. Mainly because I live with one! 🤣

I hope you like it…

Fezziwig

Fezziwig was actually a character that originated from the novel A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, but more recently it’s evolved into an adjective.

The Urban Dictionary describes Fezziwig as

An individual, usually male, that sits around and drinks beer while watching TV. This person is known to sport a good, if not unkempt and shaggy, beard. They are frequently seen on the couch with a laptop and a beer. Fezziwigs are known to be awesome.

No thanks, I’m not going out, I’m just going to fezziwig tonight.

Or

My partner is a big old fezziwig this time of year
