Haiku Hope 19 – Apple of my eye

Hello again friends. Welcome to another edition in my series of Haikus.

Today i’ve used the 5, 7, 5, format to talk about the cheek I have to put up with from our daughter.

You’d think that as someone who hasn’t left home for 2 years I’d be pretty well sheltered from comments that can make me paranoid. Problem is, with a 6 year old in the house anything can be said at any moment. Although her comments are npt meant to be hurtful, just observations from a neurodivergent child, at times they can cut a bit.

This haiku should give you an idea why they hurt but still make me smile from time to time.

Apple of my eye

Mum you’re beautiful
But what made your tummy sag?
You did, cheeky sod
