Good afternoon readers, and welcome to my 33rd Crap Poem.
Yes, it rhymes, yes, its supposed to be funny and yes, it’s most definitely crap. However, I enjoyed writing this because most of my poems have been incredibly depressing recently. My writing, like most people, is usually a reflection of how I’m thinking and feeling and sadly my depression has found new depths as my world has been more stressful.
Saying that, I don’t want to ruin the mood. So, here is a bit of fun for you to enjoy…hopefully.

Follow the rules
Don’t let your hopes
Be the butt of their jokes.
Be strong and be brave.
Politely behave.
Follow your heart.
Make a fresh start.
Be creatively driven.
Take your prescription
Be mindful of others.
Quake under your covers.
Love someone deep.
Get lots of sleep.
Open your mind.
Always be kind.
Let people in.
Don’t live in sin.
Try not to swear.
Be someone who cares
Make lots of money.
Don’t steal the honey.
Make true your dreams.
Use the skin creams.
Be silent and listen.
Watch the stars glisten.
Please try your best.
Don’t let in stress.
Apply for a job.
Don’t be a slob.
Clean up your face.
Buy your own place.
Believe in yourself.
Don’t rot on the shelf.
So many rules.
I heard back at school.
When can I be?
Truthfully me.
Instead I remember.
One gloomy November.
The best rule was told
“Love life ‘til you’re old.”
