Haiku hope 20 – access

Welcome to you all. Here is my 20th haiku hope, and I can’t quite believe I’ve written 10 of these things, but I’ve had fun along the way.

Haikus aren’t as easy as they seem, with so few syllables to play with getting a story out within those 3 lines is tricky.

This latest haiku is all about accessibility, and how disappointing it is when organisations thing a disabled toilet and ramp covers all bases.

Although I’ve been home for so long, I still need assistance with phone calls because of a stutter, which gets worse as I talk and stress. Despite explaining this and asking for time to speak because I struggle, I’ve encountered companies who have no idea what it means to help someone likeme on the phone. It’s exhausting.

Anyway, here’s the haiku.

Accessible? You?

A ramp doesn’t cover it.

At least I can leave.

Thanks for reading. 💜
