Hold humour part 4 – more bad jokes!

Hello everyone! Welcome back to some more bad jokes that I’ve researched just to try and make you smile.

This series is all about finding something to do when you need distracting from a stressful situation while you wait for help to arrive. It’s called hold humour because I found myself feeling horrific while I sat on hold for a mental health crisis line for nearly an hour. I needed something to do, something to stop me thinking about my upsetting concerns, and I jotted down a note in my notebook to think of something lighthearted to distract others. At that point the COPE campaign was launched, and I added Hold Humour to my other distractions – Crap Poems, Weird Words and Haiku Hope.

Every week or so I publish about 5 jokes, all rubbish but at least smile worthy, in the hope of making life a little lighter.

I hope these are helpful!

Joke 1

I invented a new word!

Plagiarism!

Joke 2

A woman in labour suddenly shouted “shouldn’t! Wouldn’t! Couldn’t! didn’t! Can’t!”

“Don’t worry” said the doctor. “They’re just contractions”.

Joke 3

Before you criticise someone, walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you do criticise them, you’re a mile away and you have their shoes!

Joke 4

I lost an electron.

You have to keep an ion them!

Joke 5

What did 0 say to 8?

Nice belt!

That’s it for today. Remember if you are looking for someone to call in a crisis (while you read these awful poems) then a long list of places to go is available on my mental health and suicide prevention support lines page.

Thanks for visiting 💜
